There’s also that moment in Countdown where he creates a construct from Gurren Lagann but I ain’t trawling through those issues. Pretty sure he’s also made a Gundam here and there.

I could have picked Batgirls Steph and Cass, Flash Wally West and Green Lantern Kyle Raynor, Birds of Prey Babs and Black Canary, Secret Sixers Catman and Deadshot, Teen Titans Tim and Kon, but no! I’m going for something even more weird and obscure on this one. 

Ragdoll and Parademon… best DC friendship EVER. Parademon would do anything to protect his friend, and after Parademon died, how did Ragdoll pay him back? He stuffed Parademon’s torso and kept him in his bedroom where he conversed with him like he was still alive.

Did Tim do that when Kon died? NO! The other super friends mentioned above have nothing on these two. 

This shouldn’t be a hard question, but for me it is. I love, love, LOVE the quirky C and D-listers like Ragdoll, Klarion the Witch Boy, Deadman, and Xombi. I love Animal Man, and as I mentioned in a previous post boy wonder Tim Drake will forever have a special place in my heart. All of these guys are my favorites for their individual personalities, their power sets, their flaws, and their adventures, BUT if I had to choose ONE favorite male character…

Day One
Favorite Female Character 

It’s no secret that I was a huge Robin fan when I was growing up. Tim Drake was older than me in the comics, but he wasn’t in his 30’s like the Trinity. So, naturally, Steph was someone I looked forward to seeing as a regular in the series. 

She had a lot of angst at the time (daddy issues, teen pregnancy, crush on a masked vigilante, etc), as did I. After the first 50 or 60 issues of the series, I became a lapsed comic book fan. I moved on with my life, and so did Steph. Eventually, I started keeping up with the series again via Wikipedia Then one day I wanted to see how Steph was doing in real time, so I picked up a copy of the Bryan Q Miller Batgirl series. I was blown away by how much Stephanie had grown since those early years as a Robin fan girl. 

After that issue, I wanted more. I picked up more of the series. Then I picked up some Secret Six issues because I read that Gail Simone was featuring LGBT characters…. and then the New 52 hit. I’ve been spending tens of dollars every week since. :) If it hadn’t been for the unsinkable Stephanie Brown though, I wouldn’t be here blogging about comics. Hell, I would’t even be considering comic writer as a possible career path. I owe a lot to the girl wonder and the creators who helped shape her into the symbol of hope which she and this wonderful medium have given me. Tear. ::)
